After school this afternoon, on my way home I met two American friends who didn't know how to go back to their hotel. They looked very worried. As I knew where the hotel was, I decided to take them there. On the road I told them that the city had changed a lot. And I also introduced that now Chinese students needn't spend most of their time on textbooks any more. Chinese students had more free time. In their spare time, they could develop their own interests and take part in some social activities. The American friends told me something about the American youth as well. I enlarged my knowledge of American youth.
Although it was late when I arrived home, I was really very happy.Because I not only helped American friends out of trouble, but also realized how important it was to learn a foreign language well.
Dear sir, I'm a resident of the city.I feel there are many problems existing in the trade of taxi in our city. First of all, there are still not enough stops in the streets so it's not easy to take a taxi. And taxis often run very fast, which causes many traffic accidents. What's more, some taxi drivers still refuse to pick up some passengers without any reason. Another terrible thing which often happens is that deep at night taxis waiting around the entertainment places make much noise. Many people suffer from this inconsiderate action. A friend of mine living in another city once visited me, and she told me our city's taxi drivers cheated passengers from other cities. What will a guest think of our city after such a bad thing occurs to him or her? I think we must take actions to tighten control over the taxi trade. Maybe the first thing to do is raise the taxi drivers' professional morality. We are looking forward to your reply.
I am writing to you to talk about taking up occupations for college graduates. Nowadays many graduates are looking forward to obtaining employment in big cities, not willing to work in the countryside.
As a matter of fact, there are not enough opportunities to satisfy most of the hunters in big cities while in the countryside talented people are badly needed and a lot of posts are waiting for us. Rural areas are a vast world, where you can put your abilities to good use and you'll be able to make greater contributions to the building of new countryside.
Therefore, I believe we can have as bright a future in the country as we have in the city.
Dear Mr Li,
I'm very excited to write to express my thanks to you. I am now a freshman of Wuhan University, which I have been dreaming about. Mr Li, I still remember the days when you taught me English. My English has been improved greatly because of your creative work. However, at one time, the pressure of examinations, too much homework and the high expectations made me depressed. I was tired of the warning that if I didn't do my best, I wouldn't have the chance to go to college. Thanks for your encouragement; if not, I wouldn't have realized my dream. And now I really understand you. I wish more and more of your students could go to their ideal colleges. Are you still so busy? How I miss you!
Hoping to hear from you soon.
Taking Part in School Activities
Life is busy for us senior school students, especially the students who are spending the last years in senior school, like us.We have lots of things to study and we have to face the NMET,so we have different opinions on taking part in school activities.
Some of us think we should take an active part in school activities because it can do us many benifits. We can learn much that can't be learned in the classroom. And with so many study works to do,we may feel tired, then taking part in school activities can relax us.
But the others don't think so.They feel that there's never enough time to study,so they think that taking part in school activities is a waste of time.In there opinions,if they can make full use of the time, they'll make greater progress.
To my mind, taking part in school activities is of great use to us all.We should study hard, but we also need relaxation.Do remember, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
Busy to send off the final exam, full of joy to usher in the fall of the Spring Festival. Countless travel plans have been planned in mind.
Who knows, at the end of December 19, I talked back to my classmates. At that time, I knew that SARS like virus had happened. I said half jokingly that the Internet is too exaggerated to be so serious. After we had fun with each other, we didn't pay attention.
On January 20, I went to the supermarket and the vegetable market with my mother to buy all kinds of things for new year's products. On that day, all the people did not wear masks as before. I did not know that the epidemic would be so fierce behind us. I felt that it was too far away from us. There are fewer and fewer cars on the road. My father said with emotion that it's so cold not to go home this new year. I joked, otherwise, we will drive back on the first day of the new year and surprise grandma!
